Ask HN: Do video calls over full-tunnel VPN bother you?

My company encourages the always-on use of a full-tunnel VPN. I don't like the increased latency in videos calls, it makes me sad and impairs my connecting with others over video. Is this a widespread experience in big companies? Is there any hope for movement away from full-tunnel, so we can have better video conversations?
