I'm quite fond of the orangey hue myself. Harsh white light is awful. The contrast between the dark of night and white light is too great and it messes up my vision (migraineur with stupid light sensitivity issues). I've recently encountered a couple of construction sites which are illumunated by a particularly pleasant green hue at night. That might be even better. And while we're on the subject of street lights, can we please stop with all the light pollution?
