I understand that viewpoint to an extent, but climate change is already causing problems today. It's not a nebulous future thing. It's also something that looks like it's going to hit some of the poorest parts of the world the hardest in terms of increasing storm severity, flooding, drought, damage to crop yields etc. If you want to tackle economic and opportunity inequality you need to take that into account.
