Static website analytics with no JavaScript using GoAccess
- lucasmullens 6y agoIf anyone's wondering why you would use a "no JS" approach when you're already using React, it's that this still works for NoScript users (assuming you either use a SSG like Next.js or use SSR).
- danielkessl 6y agoYes, this works with JavaScript disabled. I'm using React at build time to compose the pages, but there's no runtime scripts on the site.
- majjgepolja 6y agoTime to find next script blocking addon /s
- ramsj 6y agoWould you also have to set cache control headers?
- kureikain 6y agoCan it detect bot request? Nice thing about JS is we can avoid request form curl/http lib etc.
- leephillips 6y agogoaccess has an option to ignore crawlers.
- outcoldman 6y agoI actually recently just build an app that allows you to run website analytics from aws amplify apps https://loshadki.app/cloudanalytics/ https://loshadki.app/cloudanalytics/ Works great with my hugo generated static websites.
- dclusin 6y agoI just run static site w/ nginx and have it periodically generate an html file... also served by nginx. I setup a cronjob to parse the last hours logs. U can see it in action: https://www.clusin.com/analytics/ https://www.clusin.com/analytics/
- ReflectedImage 6y agoIs there a way to filter out bad traffic like thinkphp and wordpress hack attempts?
- pleb_nz 6y agoI use a firewall to block all unwanted traffic
- theamk 6y agoHow does unique visitor tracking work without cookies? With IP address?
- danielkessl 6y agoFrom GoAccess manual: HTTP requests containing the same IP, the same date, and the same user agent are considered a unique visitor.
