During the Covid market crash my bonds barely changed. If I had rolled it all into small caps at the bottom there I could have doubled its value by now. (And then rolled it back into bonds at the top here.) Additionally for bonds, the percent of earnings looks low on my positions statement but a few times a year I get some fat dividends on my bond holdings which I do not think it reflects.
