Erlang has an incredibly compelling value proposition! The problem is that the tooling and ecosystem are not really there. I tried to dip my toe into it maybe a year ago, and the error messages have not held up according to modern standards.
- fredrikholm 6y agoHave you tried Elixir? It's a thin language wrapped over Erlang, filling in the holes of the areas you mentioned, and was designed for exactly that purpose (programmer ergonomics).
