HN is a funny place. One day you are convinced no smart person on HN is still writing Java and the next day you see droves discussing about a java release.
- dankwizard 6y agoi make lots of money doing it though
- signal11 6y agoA new JVM release is always cause for cheer. The demo language it comes with also keeps getting better :-)
- ph2082 6y agoIt's a huge win that 'demo language' it comes with pays lots of people's bill. :)
- mbrodersen 6y agoThe idea that the tools you use is a reflection of how smart you are is just plain old silly. Most of the work you do in software is language/tools independent. A smart software developer can do great work with almost any tool.
- koheripbal 6y agoIn the financial industry, most server software is still written in Java (unless it's built for high-speed execution).
