From a pragmatic point of view, it is certainly an improvement to have "only Google" track you, over "Google and everyone else". As such, it is a net benefit.

From a pragmatic point of view, it is certainly an improvement to have "only Google" track you, over "Google and everyone else". As such, it is a net benefit. Of course one would like Google and others to simply support technological foundations that make it impossible to track individuals, but it's still strictly better than the status quo.
