Where I used to live used crushed glass as part of a traction mix. They claimed there were no adverse effects on tires but there were many complaints from cyclists that their tires were popping regularly.
- TuringNYC 6y agoSeems if it sprays into the air and gets into people's eyes, that would be an even bigger problem.
- volkk 6y agothis sounds horrible. what if you walk on it and track it home? then you get to walk on crushed glass with your bare feet? yikes
- cbsmith 6y agoIt's really not that different from walking on sand.
- sjg007 6y agoCrushed glass is silica which is a component of sand.
- Faaak 6y agoand it make the road so much noisier too.
