You have a good argument, pointing out that extensions require huge scrutiny, but it's tainted by a dismissal of the actual issue: Google's escalating process is utterly broken. They've effectively managed to recruit HN as front-line support, for free. Why pay people when they can just fix the issues that bubble out to the frontpage of whatever social media.
