- zokier 6y agoscala-native exists?
- dw-im-here 6y agoLife is too short to reimplement libraries and have them battle tested. As a scala dev I find this a very weak argument
- weatherlight 6y agoExcept like the BEAM/erlangOTP(and by extension Elixir) is older than the JVM, and arguably as battle tested, if not more....
- dw-im-here 6y agoDo you know the difference between a library and a runtime?
- weatherlight 6y agoDo you know that these a lot of these libraries already exist as apart of the OTP platform? and that Erlang has been around for 35 years and because those libraries exists as apart of the platform by extension all the languages that run on the runtime have them too? The JVM runtime is a runtime. BEAM/OTP/ERTS is a full fledged collection of middleware, libraries, and tools written into/as apart of the Erlang programming language. You can not separate one form the other.
- pjmlp 6y agoLife is to short to reinvent the JVM and .NET runtimes, and IDEs, poorly on FOSS budgets.
