Now if I were you I'd go over this whole post again and see if there are any patterns. In this one it is obvious. Almost every single person is telling you "you are ignoring an emotional problem" and you get defensive and talk about books.

I think that's a pretty direct way to put it but I really cannot agree more. I have to believe that OP already knows this and that's why they subconsciously made this thread in the first place. Perhaps this can be the gentle nudge to get them to have the uncomfortable realization with themselves that more drastic and potentially messy (but necessary) action is required.
