San Francisco's Poop-Patrol Boss Made $380K and Has Been Charged with Corruption
- pixel_tracing 6y agoWow so why do we as rich techies in SF put up with this shit?
- jimmygrapes 6y agoRed team/blue team stuff I'd wager. Not enough nuance, gotta take the whole package.

- bsder 6y ago> Prop. A lost in a landslide; some 77 percent of San Francisans voted to preserve a monopoly and stave off competitive bidding. Oh well. In voting down Prop. A, San Franciscans also spurned the idea of putting garbage rates in the hands of the Board of Supervisors — instead of the body dominated by Nuru which recently upped our rates by more than 20 percent. Apparently the rich techies couldn't be bothered to actually do something not in front of a computer and actually support the proposition.
- tschwimmer 6y agoBy population they are a small part of the city. Their voting power is quite low.
- ulfw 6y agoThis type of shit is why I've left SF a decade ago. It's by far the worst run city I've been to. Super expensive and money wasted left and right with nothing to show for it.

- almost_usual 6y agoI thought fiat currency didn’t matter anymore. Were they paid in Sprinter Vans, real estate, NFTs, ETH, BTC, Teslas, Fentanyl?
- someonehere 6y agoFor context we had the head of our public works arrested and slowly the dominos have been falling. https://missionlocal.org/2020/11/mohammed-nuru-recology-confederacy-of-dunces/ https://missionlocal.org/2020/11/mohammed-nuru-recology-conf... Not surprised someone in that department is getting some nice compensation.
- rsj_hn 6y agoMarina Times has done the best investigative reporting on this, including forensic accounting, all while the brown-supporting SF Chronicle stood silent. https://www.marinatimes.com/2020/07/friends-with-community-benefits/ https://www.marinatimes.com/2020/07/friends-with-community-b...
