Solar Protocol – a web platform hosted across a network of solar-powered servers

This is fantastic. It is the homelab version of Google shifting workloads around the globe based on the cost of energy/cooling.

I dig around on the site a little, but did not find information about how one becomes a “steward.” Sounds like a fun project and I’d be happy to share some of this Texas sun.

Info on how to become a solar steward is on their site at http://solarprotocol.net/call.html http://solarprotocol.net/call.html

Thanks the “Call” link seemed ambiguous to me, so I did not click.

Ironic location: Presently you are on a server called Caddie in Control that is located in Coal City, Newcastle as this is the server receiving the most sunshine in our network at the moment.

I imagine it's intentional irony, given that that message was composed by the solar server administrator.
