I have one simple question to people who are commenting that freshers should join Infy, TCS, Wipro. Why?
You guys are simply giving only philosophy like someone can join Infosys and likes to change the system, improve culture n engineering practices, service work is also important with product work etc. (Who is talking of service vs. product here? This is engineering vs. non engineering)
Freshers are not interested in philosophy. They want to use their knowledge and learn how to do work properly along with earning money at the same time.
Why will a fresher join a company to change the system and improve the culture of the company. Are they social reformers? Are they the managers of Infosys/TCS/Wipro? Should the freshers decide the culture of Infosys/TCS/Wipro or it is the responsibility of the CEOs, HRs and managements to decide the culture of Infosys/TCS/Wipro?
In short you guys tell me why a fresher should join a company to do all these philosophical and cultural improvements instead of trying to join a company where the fresher can do proper engineering work and learn good coding and engineering practices from his seniors?

- uselessranter 15y agoMy friend, every company has a goto-market-strategy where it carves out a niche in a market place, that niche helps the company to grow and create a place for itself in the ecosystem. Japanese automobile manufacturers (Honda, Nissan, Toyota) in the 1960s were the largest supplier of mere auto engines to the USA, now if some Japanese at that time were to say we should be like Chevrolet and build great cars. they could never as a industry grown as they are today. Today Japanese cars are the top selling cars in USA. There are product engineering divisions in these companies - where end-to-end products are created (thus engineering them) from scratch and delivered to customers, one needs to clearly communicate his/her aspirations to get engaged in those opportunities. Who is a fresher? Fresher is a adult with 21 years experience in life. Mark Zukerberg was of the same age, when he started facebook. If you believe in yourself, please come up with an idea, make a presentation directly to the CEOs of Infy/Wipro/TCS - believe me they are very approachable people, explain why the product that you are creating has the top engineering work, will create great value for the customers and employees and makes financial sense to invest in. After all, there are products created by the employees of these same companies, that have been spun off as subsidiaries and have been very successful - Yantra OMS, OnMobile, CyberManage, Finacle, BaNCS. I am sure wise businessmen who run these companies will recognize the potential in your idea.
