when i lost my wallet with my debit card in it, i went to my nearby credit union branch and they just printed a new one for me on the spot. all the relevant info was printed on the card and magnetized/loaded in the right spots. it didn't have raised numbers like many cards (even the periodic renewal replacement they've since mailed me lacks raised numbers as well). it seemed to me then, and now, that that was a much better experience than waiting for it nervously in the mail.
