I used to have FU money. Now I don't. Well, not entirely true - I still do but the lifestyle creep has snuck up on me as I wasn't deliberate in my spending. Made a couple of bad decisions like building a second home in a country which I'll likely never visit again due to its political circumstances but seemed like a bargain at the time (yeah, I know). Also my family has slowly got used to more expensive gifts and higher expense entertainment choices and now the seven figure balance sheet doesn't feel so liberating anymore :( I'm now working towards being more deliberate with spending and cutting down our set of possessions that provide us little value. Mostly that second house.
