I think a prolonged thaw and a refreeze will burst your freezer with all that water in it. Probably just as well, you won't want it with the putrified carcass in it. (I keep a ziploc baggie of icecubes in my freezer. It lets me know if my food is going to kill me, and I can use it as ice if I run low!)
