  Not a physical device, but I've been using Shush app on macOS for years.   Nothing beats a hardware mute switch. The amount of times I've clicked the built in mute button on my mic for it to just be ignored by the software... (looking at you MS team's, you piece of garbage). True mute switches should cut off the mic entirely
