Every Toyota I have owned has been a legend. Got a 95 Corolla to 280k miles before I sold it, and still got $500 for it. Was still chugging along.
The only American car I ever owned was a Chevrolet Cavalier and it was a total piece of shit. Ditto for every American car I have rented, even “higher end” ones. Always feel excessively plastic, stiff, with odd design flaws like the rear view mirror hitting the sun visor.
Best thing that ever happened to American cars was the import of foreign cars, which forced them to at least compete somewhat. But overall, Toyota for life.
