One thing I agree on wrt removing scroll bars is that scroll bars make a lot less sense now for articles, because you'll think you're 20% through an article, only for it to turn out that 60% of the article is ads and other crap. In that sense, it feels as if they've lost some of their meaning. For articles, it might be interesting to do something to inform the user that not all content is alike, possibly through metadata.
