The startup speed of DOOM Emacs is outstanding, as others have noted. Additionally, I've found adding my own customizations is much easier in Doom than Spacemacs. While the Spacemacs "layers" approach is nice for setup, it can become very brittle when you start hacking on it yourself. Some of that could also be due to my own lack of skill with elisp, though.
