Had a similar experience when I showed up to an interview for a Windows sysadmin job that a recruiter had arranged. First thing they said was "so your resume says you have 5 years of AS/400 system administration experience?" I think I was 22 years old at the time and had never seen AS/400 in my life, and told them so. They showed me a copy of my resume which had AS/400 and a few other skills falsely inserted by the recruiter. They appreciated my honesty and did call me back for another open position later, and told me they'd fired that recruiter.
