I participated in the Georgia Tech OMSCS program to get to an MS CS degree about 6 years after getting my EE BS. I've stayed in my engineering role, but it's absolutely given me an advantage in certain aspects of my job. I can more effectively communicate with IT, and I find myself in leadership positions because I can bridge the gap between IT and Engineering. I think at the end of the day though, the Master's is not going to give you the knowledge to ace a FAANG interview.
