I was just talking to a good friend of mine about how the lockdown and Covid-19 really revealed the people who are friends of convenience vs. the friends who will take the extra effort (e.g. will go for walks, or join Zoom chats) no matter the cost.
- jan_Inkepa 6y agoI'd caution against judging people too harshly based on their reaction to lockdown conditions. There are some people who I like a lot, but I've been completely unable to socialise successfully with them online - for whatever reason it's awkward and I've just toned down contact until I can see them again in person once things get back to normal. Also, a lot of people I know are reacting badly to lockdown (depression/etc) - I have no ill will against them for being weird/not being able to keep things up.
- cbogie 6y agothis resonates a ton with me. i’m known as an extreme extrovert and i love people and make friends out of the pure joy. not to say i don’t have an internality equally as core to my identity - but this year has been extremely difficult for me because zoom/ft/whatever just does not bring me the fulfillment in-flesh time together does. it’ll end someday but it’s been a major bummer. hugs to all - we’ll get through it.
