It is fantastic to see a programming community venture between Joel Spolsky and Jeff Atwood take off.
I am so looking forward to this and my expectation is already very high which is amazing considering there is no hype (yet).
- baha_man 18y agoNo hype? They are on episode 16 of their weekly podcast.
- babul 18y agoI mean more in terms of external hype.
- mechanical_fish 18y agoI don't think it counts as hype if you have to subscribe to it. Hype is that which passes before your eyes whether you subscribe or not.
- jrockway 18y agoIt is fantastic to see a programming community venture between Joel Spolsky and Jeff Atwood take off. Why? Because they talk about themselves a lot?
- AndyKelley 18y agoYeah dude, us nerds don't pay attention to Hollywood celebrities, so when a programmer celebrity arises we wet our pants with excitement
- davidw 18y agoI think Spolsky often has interesting things to say about the business of programming. Atwood... well... not my cup of tea.
- jrockway 18y agoI agree completely. Spolsky's essays are pretty enjoyable. But neither are necessarily qualified to actually write software anymore.
- tfinniga 18y agoWell, proof is in the pudding - apparently Atwood is doing a good chunk of the coding on stackoverflow.com. Joel seems useful for funding, business advice, his community, and to tell Atwood that he really should learn C.
