The most interesting part of the Uyghur situation is that the world has had more or less the same reaction that they had to the Nazi persecution of the Jews in the 1930s. We know it is happening but we are not going to do anything. Arguably if not for Pearl Harbor the US wouldn't have interfered with Germany either.
- cjblomqvist 6y agoI'm not sure that people were as much aware as we are/could be today tbh. I had a few relatives (now dead) who supported the nazi politics (I'm Swedish) and my understanding is that it was not at all clear until after the war. Perhaps there were rumors, but facts were much more difficult to come by at that time (even though it's sometimes confusing nowadays too).
