I haven't figured out how to intelligently have a content-based news feed AND a serialized canonical feed of messages without making an algorithmic news feed.
Turns out writing news feed is a pain in the butt.
- thejarren 6y agoAnd it depends on the platform’s motives if this feature were implemented. I could see the Apple iMessage approach simply “Sorting”, while FB Messenger would likely use a heavy-handed algorithm (depending on the size of the group). If this concept were given room to evolve, I think both could coexist.
