I vaguely remember ISO wanting to make their standards freely available a couple of years back, but the BSI (British Standards Institute) blocking the move, because it conflicted with their business model. I can't find a reference to it though and it was only briefly announced during an ISO meeting. Is there someone from ISO who can back this up?
