This is an interesting hypothesis. My (more general) hypothesis was that OP is posting under pseudonym because their actual business is something that wouldn’t be considered particularly virtuous on HN. Discrediting a competitor would certainly fit that idea. (Although the idea of finding engagement only on one platform at first doesn’t seem far-fetched to me at all.)
