The new Google Pay repeats all the same mistakes of Google Allo
- jackson1442 6y agoIt absolutely amazes me that Google built an entire messaging platform inside this app. Why was that built? Not to mention the app is _incredibly_ framey when you look at any elements for the first time on an iPhone 12. My heart goes out to anyone trying to use this on an older device.
- fakedang 6y agoThe jank is actually because the app was built in Flutter, which has conflicts with Metal on iOS.
- ehvatum 6y agoIdentifying me by cell number instead of my Google account is a good start for Google Pay, but it leaves open the possibility that, if I lost my phone, I could get another with the same number. Google should use IMEI to identify Google Pay users. That way, if I lost my phone, I’d be permanently fucked.
