- eesmith 6y agoThat clue was enough for me to link on the "past" link, which goes to https://hn.algolia.com/?query=How%20the%20Fossil%20Fuel%20Industry%20Convinced%20Americans%20to%20Love%20Gas%20Stoves&type=story&dateRange=all&sort=byDate&storyText=false&prefix&page=0 https://hn.algolia.com/?query=How%20the%20Fossil%20Fuel%20In... . I don't think Bostonian was obligated to duplicate the existing API. Which discussion thread should Bostonian have pointed to? There were seven comments in four previous postings; one with 3 comments, one with 2 comments, and two postings with only 1 comment. Picking any one would have left out over 1/2 of the previous comments. Listing the comment count in all past postings is exactly what the "past" link does.
