What Makes Hacker News Special Despite the UI
In your opinion what makes hacker news special despite not having the most appealing UI

- sigmaprimus 6y agoHonestly, the UI is part of what I find appealing. This may have more to do with my failing eyesight and outdated tech but I appreciate clear text without a bunch of slow loading images that cause the text to jump around and forcing me to scroll. Sometimes I just want my watch to tell me the time and I miss payphones too, so IDK if I'm the best person to answer this. I do know putting "ASK HN:" before your question helps keep the UI neat and organized and probably will get You more responses.
- WheelsAtLarge 6y agoI'm a fan of the UI too. It's very simple and reduces cognitive overload. You know exactly where everything is and don't have to put much effort into understanding and remembering where the important parts are. I think that's a big part of its appeal.
