Btrfs Will Finally “Strongly Discourage” You When Creating RAID5 / RAID6 Arrays
- hedora 6y agoI wonder if this impacts synology. I’m running a RAID 6 array with btrfs on top. They handled the partitioning, so I don’t know if they’re using the built in raid 6, or the underlying Linux implementation.
- gvkhna 6y agoCame to ask the same question. I have a hunch the raid 6 in the storage pool is separate from a file system raid. But I’ll have to do more research. Just switched to synology for backups and looking to have a data integrity rated system for long term. Anyone know more?
- ThePowerOfFuet 6y agoSynology uses Linux RAID and then uses btrfs inside the resulting metadisk.
