And, why would someone's negative impression of one particular for-profit education outfit – one whose abuses were strongly associated with a particular set of misguided incentive-misaligning government loan subsidies – turn them off against all for-profit educators? Would either of the following formulations make sense: "I thought we were all against for-profit investor Bernie Madoff, why do people like for-profit investor Warren Buffett?" "I thought we were all against for-profit medical hype like Theranos, why do people like for-profit BioNTech's mRNA vaccine?" You shouldn't erase all the other salient differences between people & projects under some broad, & assumed derogatory, "for-profit" label.
