I remember when TIE Fighter came out. I was in my early teens. The new shading system and AI, and for the first time we got to fight for the Empire! It was a huge step up from X-Wing, and everyone I knew wanted (and eventually got) it. Then LEC re-released X-Wing with the updated graphics. The two made for a complete (at the time) PC Star Wars experience. I killed hours between the two. I couldn't wait to get home from school to fly the next mission.
