I just wish people called it 'correlates' instead of prediction since ML algo's often fall in the correlation category, not the predicting one.

- adolph 6y agoAgreed. Without the addition of causal inference this is phrenology in ML drag. To their credit the authors say "Here, we explore correlations between political orientation and a range of interpretable facial features. . ." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phrenology https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phrenology https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/36204378-the-book-of-why https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/36204378-the-book-of-why
