For me, scrum is really about splitting code development into 2 week chunks called "sprints". And I like that.
So instead of, on hand, having constant daily storm of thing, or, on the other hand, having tasks that take forever and never end, you have time-boxed 2 weeks sprints that you plan beforehand and do them. It's not overly planned for the next year, it's also not no planning, it's "just right". Management is happy that they see what is going on, developers are happy that they are not micromanaged.
Daily meetup is just to check up how things are going. It's good, but it needs to be really checked by someone to not exceed some time and not be yet-another 1 hour meeting.
All the other things can be safely ignored; all those managers and owners and masters, they would exist with or without scrum and they effectively don't matter all that much.
What I do hate is "story points" and "velocity", because they at the same time don't mean anything and do mean something. In my head I convert them to "mandays". I don't know why people don't call them "mandays". "But they are not mandays" you say... well they mostly are, let's call them that.
I never had experience with all the other weird rituals like the cards.
