US roads got more dangerous in 2020 even though we stayed at home
- dazc 6y agoI don't know what the figures are here in the UK but, since first lockdown, I have noticed much more aggressive and dangerous driving than normal, not just speeding.
- toyg 6y agoLast time I checked, there were similar conclusions: accidents in absolute terms had gone down, obviously, but mortality had gone up.
- helen___keller 6y agoThe roads tend to be safest in conditions where drivers are anxious and high-alert: high traffic, narrow roads, etc Removing other cars from the roadways unfortunately just creates an opportunity for the remaining cars to go faster and drive more recklessly.
