For me, agile is synonymous with a common sense approach: take small steps to your goal, and don't be alarmed if you need to pivot your strategy along the way, as no one has a crystal ball. Having said that, I've seen a lot of agile projects fail, because people are too busy worrying about being "agile", while forgetting to apply common sense.
