Funny reading this while Apple re-uploads my entire 10+ year photo library _from an external drive_ back to iCloud after I fresh-installed Big Sur.
- ftio 6y agoProtip: go the other direction. I've found that re-downloading the whole thing into a new library is >10x faster than resyncing your local 'originals' with iCloud. I have no idea why this is, but I've done the 'download' method twice, and it has been so much faster and more reliable (and less stressful).
