- nickthemagicman 6y agoTo be fair vanilla jS was a NIGHTMARE a decade ago when it was the wild wild west of standards and every browser for itself. To do anything required 20 lines of code testing for browser compatibility, and jquery took care of that.
- tpetry 6y agoDoing DOM modifications is still much more verbose than using jquery.
- leerob 6y agoRecently, there was a linked shared with a cheatsheet for modern JS that would replace needing to use jQuery. Does anyone have that link? Essentially a guide for building framework-less apps with vanilla JS.
- mekster 6y agohttp://youmightnotneedjquery.com http://youmightnotneedjquery.com I feel the site is being sarcastic how jQuery is easier to write than vanilla JS.
- tengbretson 6y agoGood grief. Tell me more about how wonderful Vanilla JavaScript's "Math" and "String" libraries are.
