When this story first broke, I spent a lot of time and effort getting the word out, getting people riled up about the evils of FB, and trying to get people to switch to Signal/Telegram/whatever, all with minimal success. As someone who understands the issues I felt it was my duty. You know what? I've changed my mind. I still understand the issues but at some point you have to decide that life's too short for this. Yes, it still sucks, and FB are still evil and I don't trust them, but I calculated that the chances of me personally being harmed by this are low enough that I don't care. All it was doing was causing me extra anxiety. CMV.
