- noarchy 15y agoI see someone whining about this in almost every post, of late, it seems. Usually it is in the form of a, "Oh another ____ thread, not another one of those." Not every post will be on one of your pet subjects. Deal with it.
- raganwald 15y agoWe also value polite discourse. Let's keep dissent civil, please. We have guidelines. Multiple posts about a subject within the guidelines is a different issue than a post outside of the guidelines. In this case, I claim that the subject is outside of the guidelines: http://ycombinator.com/newsguidelines.html http://ycombinator.com/newsguidelines.html On-Topic: Anything that good hackers would find interesting. That includes more than hacking and startups. If you had to reduce it to a sentence, the answer might be: anything that gratifies one's intellectual curiosity. Off-Topic: Most stories about politics, or crime, or sports, unless they're evidence of some interesting new phenomenon. Videos of pratfalls or disasters, or cute animal pictures. If they'd cover it on TV news, it's probably off-topic.
