What the Go folks are trying to do is get traction. Without traction the Go language won't be the "next big thing". So I expect we will see a lot of these "types" of articles coming out.
- saraid216 15y agoI thought it was a cute bit of desperation. "Let's rewind reality back a couple decades, and then assume Go came out at that point. Yay!"
- supersillyus 15y agoYou make it sound like a conspiracy. I get the impression that this is just a blogger writing an article about a language he likes and some he likes less. I'm sure the Go team and Go enthusiasts would like to see Go be more widely known and used, but I get the impression that the Go team doesn't actually want it to be the "next big thing". If they did, they'd have made more popular design choices.
- uriel 15y agoGiven that the guy that wrote this article was clearly not very versed in Go and made some pretty basic mistakes, I'm not sure how you can say he is part of whatever "Go folks" conspiracy you are claiming.
