The trouble with 'cuil' is that I keep thinking it says 'cull', which makes me think of the mass slaughtering of BSE-infected cattle. Although, more appropriately, another meaning of 'cull' is to "select from a large quantity; obtain from a variety of sources" (from the dictionary OS X Dashboard gives you).
