Something tells me this is another nail in the coffin of free speech online.
- cema 6y agoCould be. But from the article I do not see why. Could you elaborate?
- gillytech 6y agoSure, who gets to decide who the "trusted sources" are and what information is mis/disinformation? I have been seeing a growing number of "facts" and "falsehoods" being touted by mainstream media sources which are unverifiable one way or the other. On another note, if you wish to remain anonymous on a platform such as, say HN, by this open standard, you would be able to be linked to your Facebook/Twitter/IG/Snapchat profile and there is NOTHING you would be able to do about it aside from getting a new device for the exclusive use of a platform. This kind of fingerprinting is not something I can see being used for any kind of good. The "authorities" are just far too prone to authoritarianism as history has shown us.
