>Rather than inhabit a black and white world of moral absolutes, defined by an Iron Curtain that ran through the heart of Europe, the explosion of trade and digital technology has exposed a gray, amoral world of deal-making and opacity that cuts across continents and is more suited to China’s business-as-usual approach than to Biden’s attempt at resuscitating the liberal world order.
Sounds like a win to me. If the US wants to lead the world onto another path it should take the high road and do what it preaches before pointing fingers. Sure the US might call itself a democracy but is it really a democracy and equal for everyone, no matter colour of your skin, amount of money and your history?
This "China bad" propaganda is becoming extremely tiresome. How many innocent people have the US killed in its uncountable wars? I don't know the answer but I do know it is a lot worse than what is happening in Xinjiang. Stones in a glass house..
- simonblack 6y agoSure the US might call itself a democracy but is it really a democracy? The US is an Oligarchy. There are no "Democracies", those that say they are are actually Oligarchies. If you doubt that, answer this question for yourself. Do YOU have as much money, influence and political clout as (say) Bill Gates, Nancy Pelosi, Donald Trump, Kamala Harris? Why is that?
- Daho0n 6y agoThere are countries that are much closer to democracies than the US at least.
- ohiovr 6y agoWhy can't we work together on this? Step one over one.
