Creationism has nothing to do with science, neither has ideology any place in science, and you've really got to draw the limit somewhere more reasonable. I don't want my taxes to pay "research" in creationism, morphogenetic fields, astrology, or divining rods. There is plenty of heterodoxy in science as is - or do you really believe everyone agrees about almost everything in almost every discipline? Pretty much the opposite is the case. Pick any discipline you like and there will be plenty of disagreement about the respective issues in the forefront of scientific research.
