The UI has to remain 100% responsive. So put that task in a BG thread and show the user that it is being processed (with a progress bar for extra friendliness).

The UI has to remain 100% responsive. So put that task in a BG thread and show the user that it is being processed (with a progress bar for extra friendliness). Stay away from frameworks that don't have responsive UI - native is best
